World of Warcraft: Forever lands November 4, and this is a guild Horde-side on a PvP server, leveling to 60 at a relaxed pace. Two optional nights a week, no attendance sheet, no gear check. The old world, the open-world fights it forces on you, and other people in security who already play.

01 The Guild

Horde on a PvP server, two optional nights a week, and nobody keeping score.

Who this is for

Scheduled Downtime is the guild for cyber security professionals in the SquidSec community. Horde, on a PvP server, playing World of Warcraft: Forever.

Every guild has a maintenance window, and so does every company we work for. Ours is Tuesday and Thursday, it is optional, and nothing breaks. Forever is the permanent version of Azeroth with a level cap that stays at 60, which suits a guild of people with unpredictable weeks better than a treadmill does.

Guild charter

  • Real jobs and on-call rotations come first. Always.
  • No attendance tracking, no bench, no mandatory nights.
  • PvP server. Getting ganked is a feature of the itinerary.
  • First character on the server? We will group with you.

Horde classes only, on a PvP server: warrior, hunter, rogue, priest, shaman, mage, warlock, druid. Play what you like. Nobody will ask you to reroll for a raid comp that does not exist yet.

No attendance tracking. No bench. If Tuesday is a bad night, Tuesday is a bad night — we will see you next week.

  • Nov 4 Forever launches, 23:00 UTC. Roll Horde, pick a starting zone together.
  • Nov 5–30 Leveling at whatever pace people feel like. No race, no route.
  • Dec 9 Raids unlock. Barrow Deeps for ten, Hyjal Summit for twenty, Onyxia for forty.
